Transplendent Models: Expansions Omitting a Type
نویسندگان
چکیده
We expand the notion of resplendency to theories of the kind T + p↑, where T is a first-order theory and p↑ expresses that the type p is omitted. We investigate two different formulations and prove necessary and sufficient conditions for countable recursively saturated models of PA. Some of the results in this paper can be found in one of the author’s doctoral thesis [3].

THESIS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Expansions, omitting types, and standard systems
Recursive saturation and resplendence are two important notions in models of arithmetic. Kaye, Kossak, and Kotlarski introduced the notion of arithmetic saturation and argued that recursive saturation might not be as rigid as first assumed. In this thesis we give further examples of variations of recursive saturation, all of which are connected with expandability properties similar to resplende...

Fix a finite ordinal n > 2. We show that there exists an atomic, simple and countable representable CAn, such that its Dedekind–MacNeille completion is outside SNrnCAn+3. Hence, for any finite k ≥ 3, the variety SNrnCAn+k is not atom–canonical, so that the variety of CAns having n + k–flat representations is not atom–canonical, too. We show, for finite k ≥ 3, that ScNrnCAn+k is not elementary, ...
متن کاملA New Omitting Types Theorem
An omitting types theorem for countable models of superstable theories containing an infinite set of indiscernibles is proved. Various corollaries and applications are given. 1. One of the most useful ways that the model theorist has for controlling models is to attempt to specify the element types that models realize and omit. In this paper we present an omitting types theorem which seems well...
متن کاملNonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Bending of Straight Beams Using hp-Spectral Approximations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed using traditional finite element interpolations (i.e., Hermite cubic or equi-spaced Lagrange functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, total rotation φ and/or shear strain γxz, or in the integral form u...
متن کاملCompleting graphs to metric spaces
We prove that certain classes of metrically homogeneous graphs omitting triangles of odd short perimeter as well as triangles of long perimeter have the extension property for partial automorphisms and we describe their Ramsey expansions. This is extended variant of an extended abstract accepted to Eurocomb 2017 which contains proofs of the main statements.
